That insomniac flute
playing melancholic tune
by the edge of
nocturnal sky...
fake bewitched smile
caress the trust of love,
in a package of
perspiring lusty odor...
psithurism of leaves' gossip
nighttime dews of emotion
bares the transparent truth
of darker perception...
Moonlight on a shallow stream
shivers at the ripples
of shallow pebbles
startled by the broken dream...
Callisto and Arcas last
over the northern sky
amidst thousand dazzling
stars and drizzling stardust...
Wanning crescent of that
coquettish moon softly alights
on the inviting naval
of the virgin night...
Swarm of blushing fireflies
tries to witness
the cosmic coalescence
and the latent lascivious sighs.
Even at the risk of a cliche, Som Mazumder doesn't mind repeating his favourite poet Robert Frost's lines "Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
Reading became a part of Som Mazumdar's system since very early boyhood and writing followed, but much later. An Ex soldier, he enjoys reading more than writing. But occasionally he writes too. He prefers to write mainly on surrealism and abstract but love is another favourite topics. At present he is busy writing a novel and few of his poetries have been published as Anthology of poetries by poets from various countries. Content writing and reviewing books are also some of his favored activities.
As regards publishing his own book he feels
Publishing a volume of verse is like dropping a rose petal down the Grand Canyon and waiting for the echo as Don Marquis very rightly opined.
