Love has varied forms, and you have to bring out those emotions, that little extra that makes love happen in our lives. Write a love story with any era and backdrop, mixing and merging it with varied subgenres. A few guidelines for you to follow…
1. Submit only one short story of (3500-4000) words limit.
2. The story must be an unpublished piece which means it shouldn’t be published anywhere even on any online site or blogs.
3. You can choose any backdrop, classic, modern, historical, literary fiction or even magical realism, but love should be the core theme of the story.
4. You must use Times New Roman Font, Size 12, and your file must be sent in a Word file along with your Bio and one clear image of yours in HD.
5. Write ‘Love Story’ in the subject line and submit it to editorialmagazinecc@gmail.com with all of your files in one email only.
6. The last date of submission is 30th January 2025, which means you have enough time to weave your story and send it on or before time.
7. There is a kindness or token of love fee, i.e., you have to purchase any one book from our Online Bookstore and after making the purchase, share a screenshot of it along with your submission. (Recommended: Pick two books if possible)
8. The result will be declared in the month of Love itself, i.e. in February 2025 with the names of the three top winners, the result will be announced.
There will be a short list of five best stories apart from the winning entries and those will be published on our website.
The three top winners will be awarded INR. 1000 in cash, a box full of books from our publishing house along with a winner’s certificate.
The entries will be sent to the judges for a blind reading, which means your names will not be sent to them, once they will select the three best stories, we will disclose the names to them. Our judges are keen to read some amazing heart-touching and heart-warming love stories from your deft pens. Best wishes to you all!
Meet the Judges-
Arindam Roy, with over four decades in journalism, is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Different Truths and KKPC, its publishing arm. He is the Chairperson, Santiniketan Literature Festival. Arindam held senior positions in several media houses and launched magazines, newspapers, special editions, and pullouts. He co-authored seven Coffee Table Books (CTBs), including three CTBs for the Times Group, an academic book, edited over 50 books, and published several international poetry anthologies. He received many awards and co-authored a novel, Rivers Run Back, with an American writer.

Veteran Journalist: With over 40 years in newsrooms, Arindam Roy has witnessed and reported on a vast array of events. His experience as Managing Editor, Correspondent, and Bureau Chief for renowned publications like the Associated Press, Times of India, and Hindustan Times has honed his keen eye for stories and his ability to communicate them effectively.
Prolific Author: Arindam isn't just a consumer of stories, he's a creator as well. He has contributed chapters to various publications, co-authored a novel ("Rivers Run Back"), and even participated in five Coffee Table Books (CTBs): one from Italy, another from Marg, Mumbai, and three from The Times Group.
Content Catalyst: Arindam's expertise extends beyond writing. His involvement in the Content Development of a CTB for the Allahabad High Court, brought out by The Times Group, showcases his ability to curate and develop engaging content. Earlier, he contributed seven chapters to two CTBs of The Times Group.

Dr. Sonali Pattnaik has a PhD in English Literature and is a multiple-award winning feminist poet, academic, professor of English and visual artist. She is the author of when the flowers begin to speak (Writers Workshop, 2021) for which she was awarded, the inaugural WE Illumination Award, 2023 and International Excellence Award and the book was featured in the prestigious Journal of Commonwealth Literature. She is the recipient of Panorama International Youth Literature Award, 2024, winner of the Orange Flower Award for Poetry in English, 2022 and winner of the Gifted Poet Award, 2023. Her poetry and art have appeared in several international and national print anthologies including The Yearbook of Indian Poetry 2022, Of Dry Tongues and Brave Hearts (New Delhi), The Kali Project (USA) and Madness: An Anthology of World Poetry (Nepal) and several reputed print and online journals such as The Hong Kong Review, The Book Review India, Setu, Femasia, Cafe Dissensus (New York), Dissident Voice, Muse India, The Bombay Review and so on.
Previously a UGC Junior Research Fellow, she is an alumna and former Lecturer in English (Permanent) at Delhi University and has taught Literature at several prestigious universities across the country and currently serves as External Expert in the Board of Studies in English at St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad. A well published academic, her book based on research on body politics in Bollywood cinema awaits publication from Orient Black Swan. Dr. Pattnaik has consistently worked towards her vision of a gender-just and equal society in her writing, activism, art, and university administrative roles.
